Serna Free is an Open Source XML editor now

User-Friendly Interface

With Syntext Serna XML editor, it is possible to work on structured content using a simple word-processor-like interface which hides all the complexities of XML behind it. The user can visually customize the GUI with the Interface Customizer Dialog.

Working in Syntext Serna WYSIWYG XML editor, you can save the customized GUI and associate it with a specific XML document type (e.g. Docbook or DITA). When you open an XML document, the associated GUI layout will come up automatically.

Dockable Dialog Boxes

Some dialogs (such as Insert Element, Element Attributes, and Find&Replace) may be called on-demand as regular “tool boxes” or be docked to the sides of the main window changing their shape and layout depending on where they are docked. This “liquid” behaviour allows you to fit a dialog best to the dockable areas.

The structured content of an XML document can be viewed on multiple pages or on a single page. By default, Docbook documents are opened paginated, and DITA documents are opened as a single page.
