Syntext Serna: Create and Open XML Documents Handily

Accompanying Metadata in "Document Templates"

To create or open any XML document, an XML editor must know the XSL stylesheet, document encoding, XML schema, and other relevant meta-data. Existing editors usually require the user to create a "project" and input all this data manually before opening or creating the document. This can be a tiresome procedure. Serna uses a different approach: it automatically matches documents against templates in its template library; templates in turn contain all necessary meta-information. So the user usually opens or creates XML documents with just a single mouse click!

Serna guesses the type of XML document, its stylesheet, etc. before the document is even opened.

A number of popular DTD/Schemas are supported out-of-the-box.
